What is Buwan ng Wika?! Last August we had Buwan ng Wika month program, This celebration is to coincide with the birth anniversary of former President Manuel Quezon, known as Ama ng Wikang Pambansa, who was born on August 19, 1878.
Students prepared for the Buwan ng Wika program, Kinder and Preschool students danced traditional dance. Which was so adorable and well prepared. It seemed that some young students participated so well that they memorized all the steps but some were bit confused with the steps but stil we had fun watching them dancing~
Next participant was Elementary students, they performed speech of Jose Rizal and danced their traditional coconut shell dance. Speech of Jose Rizal was a bit long but they memorized well and traditional coconut dance was interesting. Parents enjoyed a lot and students were also amazed with their moves.
ESL students and teachers also joined Buwan ng Wika program, they dacned Bahay Kubo in English, Tagalog and Korean Version. They danced traditional dance and played the gong. Teachers also performed the dance with the students so students also had fun dancing with teachers. Now you can see Koreans students also wearing Filipino Costumes~
For High school students, they revised the traditional dance to modern dance, which was creative and inspiring, teachers also appreciated their creativity and enjoyed their dance. For some High school students they danced with the couple like s wing dance. Their dance was cute and bright and they were very shy because it was their first time dancing girls and boys.
When all the performance was finished we finally could enjoy our Lunch, teachers and parents prepared a lot of Filipino dishes for the hungry students~ a lot of students including foreign students enjoyed Filipino dishes and had great moment bonding with the teachers and both parents.
