Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose.
Have you ever experienced being bullied in school, outside, or anywhere? Or let’s say, have you ever bullied someone else? There are many roles that kids can play. Kids can bully others, they can be bullied, or they may witness bullying. Who are you among these? It would be better if you don’t belong here right? But if you are, what are the things you must do? Run? Cry? Shout? Who will you call?
The school is one of the most common places where bullying can occur. It is very important for the students to be aware of it and how to deal with it.. Last October 24, 2014, a seminar about anti bullying was held at YSSJIS led by SPO1 Jafemar Burgos. The students learned the different kinds of bullying. Some of these are direct, indirect, etc. They also learned about crimes like kidnapping, stealing and the like. The most important thing to know is how to deal with these. For a couple of hours, the students were able to gather some information regarding bullying. We hope that what was taught to them will be kept in mind.
But everyone! This is not only for students OK? Anytime, anywhere, please, no bullying!
