Yeun Soo St. Jude International School, Inc. held series of activities to celebrate the United Nations Month. This year’s celebration’s theme is all about International Year of Family Farming. As a way of inculcating to every student’s heart and mind the value of unity among each nation, a Fashion Show for elementary students and a search for Mr. and Miss United Nations 2014 were conducted.
For the fashion show, all elementary pupils walked across the ramp and modeled the national costumes of different countries which are a member of the UN. For the high school, the search for Mr. and Ms. UN was participated by a pair of representatives for each of the four year levels. The pageant was composed of a talent portion, national costume, and question and answer portion. At the end of the contest, Miss Spain, represented by grade nine Monique V. Ato was crowned as the Miss UN. On the other hand, Beaver Cereno , grade 8, who was Mr. India was crowned as Mr. UN 2014.
After the competition, all the faculty, staff, administrators, parents, guardians and students of YSSJIS shared the food that best represents some of the member countries of the United Nations.
