e have clubs at YSSJIS such as the Math, Science and Reading Clubs to better enhance learning within the four walls of the classroom. We have our English, Math and Science classes for students who want to further enhance the understanding they have had in the classroom instructions. We have our Taekwondo club, Scouting and other extra-curricular activities.
Math Club: In this organization, students especially in the lower grades are given drills using the four basic operations of Mathematics which is Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction (MDAS). They are also given games where they could apply the said basic operations.
Science Club: The Science Club deals with tutorial for students who are not able to cope inside the classroom setting. Experiments and exercises are given to the said students in order that they be able to understand further their lessons inside the room.
Reading Club: Students especially the lower grades are given the opportunity to further enhance their reading skills in joining the club. Proper pronunciation, and fast reading is taught. The students are given lectures on how to enhance their reading skills, of course with comprehension.
Taekwondo Club: Every one are member of the said club since it is incorporated in their Physical Education Club. An Instructor who is duly licensed to teach Taekwondo handles the said class. Those who want to further enhance their taekwondo skills will have to enroll with our partner in the said club which is the GB Taekwondo Gym located along Bonifacio Street, Baguio City, Philippines. Majority of our Gym members were able to qualify themselves both from the division level up to the national level. At present, Erron Navales a Grade 5 student was able to represent the City Of Baguio and Yeun Soo-St. Jude International School in the prestiguos Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (CARAA) which was held in Apayao. It is an honor to be able to join the said Athletic Meet because one has to win in the Division Level then the City Level before you be able to reach the said Regional Meet which is also one step further to the National Athletic Meet. The National Athletic Meet is where you be spotted by the Philippine Sports Commission and will have the chance to represent the Philippines here and abroad.
Scouting Club: Scouting is a program for both boys and girls who join Scout Troops sponsored by the school. It is service and outdoor-centered. This means that the knowledge and skills that you learn are offered in the service of others. Most of these activities are done in the out-of-doors. As a member of this organization, you will learn to work with others in a team. It will train you to be a leader. You and your fellow scouts will plan and carry out your activities under the guidance and help of your Troop Leaders.
