Spiritual Life
The institution is a non-sectarian thus, we do not have Theology or Religion subjects. The spiritual lives of each student is therefore centered in the Values Education subject which is being offered from Grade school to High School.
Majority of the students at Yeun Soo-St. Jude are Roman Catholics, followed by Episcopalians, Born Again Christians, Iglesia ni Cristo and other religious dimension.
The Roman Catholics believe in the fallacy of the Pope, thus there main head is the Pope. It has 75.5 Million members in 2011 and is the predominant religion here in the Philippines, making our country the third largest number of Catholic Citizens in the World after Brazil and Mexico.
It was founded in 1901 by American missionaries led by Bishop Charles Henry Brent. It has 6 dioceses and is responsible for founding and overseeing institutions such as St. Lukes Medical Center, BrentInternationalSchool, SaintStephenHigh School and TrinityUniversity of Asia. Its principal ministerial training is Saint Andrews Theological Seminary in Quezon City, Philippines.
Born Again Christian: In Christianity, to be born again is to undergo a spiritual rebirth of the human soul or spirit, contrasted with the physical birth everyone experiences. The origin of the term “born again” is the New Testament. Jesus replied, “very truly I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of God without being born again.” It is a term associated with salvation in Christanity.
Iglesia ni Cristo or Church of Christ in English is one of the largest and powerful churches in the Third World. The largest entirely indigenous Christian denomination in the Philippines, the largest religious organization that originated from the Philippines and is the largest independent Christian church in Asia.
